Open College Network West Midlands offer high quality apprenticeship qualifications in the following sectors:

What is an Apprenticeship?

An Apprenticeship is a job with an employer that allows the apprentice to gain technical knowledge and real practical experience, along with functional and personal skills, required for their immediate job and future career whilst being paid. Apprentices are aged 16 or over and can be new recruits or current employees.

With a renewed government focus and a commitment to deliver 3 million apprenticeshiop starts during the term of the current government, it is clear that public funding will be prioritised towards apprenticeships as part of the governments plan to get Britain working and address the skills needs from employers.  So, if you don't already deliver apprenticeships, maybe now is a good time to start.

Advantages to employers:

  • As an employer you will be future-proofing your workforce along with supporting the skill set of your local community
  • Learning can often be done in your workplace, meaning minimal disruption and maximum impact
  • There are grants and funding available to help with the cost of recruitment and training
  • You only need to pay the apprenticeship minimum wage, although responsible employers choose to pay more if they can afford it
  • An apprentice adds value and should be seen as a long term investment

Advantages to centres working with us:

  • One day turnaround on certificates
  • Dedicated customer service contact
  • Competitively priced qualifications including discounted package schemes
  • Simple administrative processes
  • Fit for purpose

All our apprenticeships have been through a rigorous quality assurance process and have been created in partnership with the relevant sector skills council and industry bodies who maintain the apprenticeship frameworks to ensure they remain fit for purpose.

If your organisation is already an Open College Network West Midlands Recognised Centre then you can deliver our apprenticeship qualifications.  If you want to start providing Apprenticeships using our Apprenticeship Framework qualifications but aren't yet a Centre, then get in touch with our Business Development team today.
